Ashford ageing Care Facility has been providing care to regional rural remote care recipients since 1993.The Facility has been successful in meeting the 44 standards required under the Australian Aged Care Quality Agency, and has passed all unannounced and planned inspections by the Agency since 1993. All staff are sourced from the local area, and are able to understand and support residents who are living in a regional rural remote location. Staff training is organised through the Aged Care Channel and education service providers who can carry out training onsite, and this is supported by 2 staff members who have Certificate 4 in Workplace Training and Assessing. Management staff have formed and will continue to nurture, a professional relationship with the general practioners, allied health personnel and pharmacies who service the Facility to ensure continuity of service and medical support for the identified special needs group. The Facility has both a bus and a car .

Room Description
Each bedroom has a large window/sliding door-2.7mtrs x 2.03mtrs-combination that opens onto a large covered verandah. Each room has a view of the surrounding countryside or township. Each bedroom has newly laid vinyl floor covering, fire retardant curtaining, a bed with linen and bedspread, a bedside table, built in wardrobes with drawers , a wall mounted colour plasma television/DVD combination, reverse cycled air conditioning and an easy chair. A picture rail surrounds the room allowing residents to hang memorabilia around the walls.The large ensuite has safety standard vinyl on the floors and walls, has a handheld shower fixture, safety rails in the shower and beside the toilet.There is a large handbasin and a mirrored cabinet above the sink. Each room is equipped with a nurses emergency call system, smoke alarms and a security system. As each room becomes vacant, the rooms are repainted.
Common Areas Description
-Large open plan dining room-6.7mtrs x 10.05 mtrs- with colour coordinated tables and chairs. The chairs are specially designed to swivel, move backwards and forwards, and can be locked into place if required. The vinyl flooring was replaced around 2008,and continues to be in excellent condition.
-The large lounge room-8.84mtrs x 8.23mtrs- has leather and fabric recliner chairs, a large screen television , colour coordinated carpet and curtaining. This area is air conditioned with evaporative. New carpet was laid throughout the lounge area and hallways in 2012.
-2 private sitting rooms-3.05mtrs x 3.50mtrs and 4.42 x 3.35mtrs-that can be set up as a dining area for family and friends and has reverse cycled air conditioning.
-Activities Room-15mtrs x 5.79mtrs- for activities, parties and events. Family have access to this room for family parties and celebrations.It has it's own small kitchen with a stove and oven, refrigerator and sink.It has large tables, chairs, a television, ceiling fans and reverse cycled air conditioning.
-Covered outdoor area-15.25mtrs x 7.01mtrs- with timber tables and chairs, padded outdoorfurniture and a BBQ. This large courtyard opens onto a small lawned area with ornamental trees and scented vines. Ceiling fans have been for resident comfort.All residents and their families and friends have access to this area.
- Covered verandahs-2.5mtrs wide- surround the whole Facility. The eastern side of the Facility has been restructured as a fully enclosed area with pool fencing and gates. This provides a safe and accessible outdoor area for those residents who may wander.
-The Facility is now fully secure with keypad entry and exit on all external doors
