My mother was in care for 8 years. She had dementia

My mothers health and functioning deteriorated immediately following admission. Low staffing levels meant that she was left in her bed all day. She rapidly lost mobility and was given incontinence pads rather than assisted to toilet independently. When she died, I had arrived on my regular visit to find her suffocating, even though I saw two staff members exiting the room on my arrival. I had to call 000 myself because I could not convince the evening RN to leave her office. On the day of her funeral, I received a hostile phone call from the day roster RN, demanding to know when the rest of her possessions would be removed from her room.
