Good care, a wide variety of activities, support for family carers, lovely building and connection with community. A high number of very caring and lovely staff. Sometimes a little understaffed and sometimes I have to be very persistent to email responses to issues I have raised but mostly very good.

If the food was improved this would be an outstanding aged care home.

Thought this would have been a great facility for my family member as there were a number of Italian speaking residents here. At the beginning it was okay, however staffing levels seemed to drop and more pressure was put on the Personal Care Attendants, they were unhappy and resented the work load. Carers - staff are either very experienced so the quality of care is excellent or they have students who have no idea how to care for elderly. Food - Is atrocious!! This is the 9th chef and still the food is boring, lots of pastry food, too spicy for old people and not any quality. They should be serving fresh veggies and quality meats.

I've had mum at 2 facilities previous to Rathdowne place and although there are still issues relating to service and there will always be!... I feel management aims and strives to listen to feedback and create a positive environment for residents.
