My husband has Alzheimer's and sadly placed in aged care. The staff have been wonderful but the shortages a real concern. Most of the residents are high care and only 2 staff to shower and get them ready for the day; the same in the evenings; consequently residents can be left to their own devices for considerable length of time. My biggest concern is the total lack of activities; the residents just sit or lay all day with virtually no stimulation or interaction.

Brightwater Mandurah - Can't say enough for the excellent care my mother receives. Staff and surrounding are also of a high standard. They cater for her every need and do it so nicely. Would definitely recommend it to anyone thinking of putting a loved one into care.

We really felt that the staff at The Cove really place the residents and their families first. The care and consideration were exemplary. In addition the facilities are new and comprehensive, and a range of activities are provided. The place has a very homely feel, and the meals were of a high quality and well prepared.

My dad moved to this facility after mum died and he drunk a lot and participated sometimes but this has all changed, though if something is on that he's given a paper slip he forgets about it. He is also euphemistically called a collector - I m most embarrassed but they don't make anything of it and are just glad I return the items he has collected! There is no malice he just like to give people things (he does it with residents too!) and has no way of doing this any other way! Overall I'm really happy he's there. PS You could do with giving the Redcliffe a major makeover if it hasn't already been done (both parents were in together here).

I find the staff (carers) are not well trained and not of a caring nature its just a job and residents are a job and not a person needing special care. Carers need to be passionate about their job and need to be matched to the industry. Less staff on weekends puts strain n residents and staff. We get newsletters telling us how things will get better with new procedures inc place, id doesn't happen. Wait times to the toilet are very excessive and residents left of the toilet for very long periods after pressing the call button. On many occasions residents are addressed in a disrespective manner which is demeaning and not necessary.

The staff at Brightwater are amazing, you always can see the staff that enjoy there jobs and some that don't we have had 2 staff members that go above and beyond there daily chores and give that bit extra to make mum feel special. Thank you to those people. Overall we can talk to any member of the admin, or carer staff and get feedback on mums health or wellbeing. Brightwater have always listened to our thoughts and concerns at all times of stress and come thru on more than a couple of occasions. We have only praise for The Cove and our experiences and mum loves everyone and the routine also.

Parts of the building interior are getting rather tired and some of the rooms need to be less basic i.e. more homely. My wife has bee in Brightwater for 3 years and the staff, carers, and volunteers do marvellous job of looking after her.

The care and love the staff give to my husband. The House is always clean and his room. Have no complaints about food.

The staff are very good with their caring. I do feel they could do a bit more physio with some of the patients. The food is very good.

My husbands father was cared for by Brightwater in Inglewood and he passed away there after about 7 years. My mother is in care now aged 93 years at Brightwater in Mandurah W.A and is being very well taken care off at all times. I have recommended this facility to friends when needed and they have also been happy.

Excellent facility well organized with friendly helpful, dedicated professional staff. As a family member I'm extremely comfortable that my mother is well taken care off. Many thanks to the staff at The Cove and the Brightwater Group

My father was fortunate enough to spend is last few weeks in this wonderful facility. He was treated with great respect which must have been difficult at times due to his advanced dementia (Alzheimers). My daughter and I will always be grateful for the level of care he received in his final days. Such a wonderfully caring and peaceful environment.
