Constructed in 2007 and with additional rooms added in 2012. All bedrooms at Chaffey Aged Care are in excellent condition. Carpeted throughout, each bedroom is a single room with its own private ensuite. All rooms come furnished with a single bed, bedside table, chair and flat screen digital television. Rooms all have built in robes and look out onto a landscaped garden. Bedrooms are airconditioned with a reverse cycle airconditioner and bathrooms heated with an IXL tastic to ensure resident comfort.

Chaffey Aged Care boasts a number of common areas including the combined resident lounge and dining room. This room measures 243.5 m2 and is in excellent condition. The lounge is equipped with a large plasma screen TV and a hearing loop for those with hearing problems. The dining room overlooks a vineyard and the Murray River common. The multi purpose room measures aproximately 101.5 m2 and is also in excellent condition. The multi purpose room is frequently used for Recreation and Lifestyle activities and resident meetings or functions. In additions to these common areas, each wing has a central hub area in close proximity to the nurses station. Each hub area is equiped with a kitchenette and refrigerator where residents and visitors may help themselves to a cup of tea or coffee. Each hub is aproximately 103.5 m2. Between each wing is a landscaped courtyard and the western end of the building boasts a sensory garden, bird aviary and chook pen for resident pleasure and interaction should they wish.

Chaffey Aged Care has recently undergone a further major development. This has culminated with the addition of a whole new Wing housing a further 22 residential aged care beds which have been completed and commissioned in 2017 along with a new café, new laundry and staffroom facilities, refurbishment of the kitchen, refurbishment of the Special Care wing and a new resident dining room and refurbished resident lounge area. All bedrooms in Wing 5 at Chaffey Aged Care are newly constructed as of December 2017. Each room or common area has a new vinyl laid floor throughout. Each bedroom is a spacious single room with its own private ensuite. All rooms come furnished with a king single bed, bedside table, a resident/visitor chair and flat screen digital television and built in cabinetry for extra storage and display. Rooms all have large built in robes with mirrored doors and look out onto a landscaped garden area or a vineyard and the greater Merbein Common. Bedrooms are airconditioned with a reverse cycle air conditioner, ceiling fans are installed in each room as an alternative cooling option and bathrooms heated with an IXL tastic to ensure resident comfort.

Wing 5 boasts it's own spacious hub area for residents to enjoy the surrounding vista and is directly adjacent to our newly expanded resident dining room. The hub area is a common meeting and social gathering space as well as for the service of breakfast and morning and afternoon tea to the residents in that Wing or their guests. The hub also has a large flat screen tv, communal kitchenette and fridge for the use of residents and comfortable lounge chairs and dining settings. Residents of this Wing also have access to all other common areas throughout the facility including and not limited to a new café, resident lounge area and activities room.

The main dining room is new as of 2017 and the resident lounge area measure 480 m2 and has been fully refurbished in 2017. The lounge is equiped with a large flat screen TV and a hearing loop for those with hearing problems.
