Review Anglicare Dorothy Boyt House

Anglicare Chesalon at Malabar has changed its name to Dorothy Boyt House.

Anglicare is renaming its six Chesalon Aged Care Homes, and adopting the names of six women who have played a significant role in our aged care services since 1943. We hold these women in high regard, and acknowledge their compassion, contribution and service to Anglicare’s aged care work.

Located near the shores of Malabar Beach just 12km south-east of Sydney, Dorothy Boyt House is a vibrant residential aged care facility built on a 50-year history of caring for elderly people in the region.

Residents enjoy panoramic views of the city, coast and beautiful Malabar beach while taking comfort in the tastefully furnished surroundings of their new home.

Accommodation caters for 62 residents and consists of spacious single and shared rooms fitted with superior furnishings and air conditioning.  There are en suite bathrooms to Extra Service rooms.

With caring and patient staff who are respectful of residents’ need for privacy and quality of life, families and friends of residents can be confident that their loved ones are receiving the best care available at Dorothy Boyt House.

I had the misfortune of having my dear parted parent in this facility for a number of years. The poor quality of care, food service, management, etc. was mindboggling inferior. If you are in the position of having to put your loved one in to an aged care facility, avoid this place like the plague! Your loved one will live longer!!

My mother was in there for nearly 3 years staff do there best but management isn't good so they don't provide high quality service also once mum had passed took forever to get bond back so make sure you read fine print all they care about is getting every cent they can out of you if you can afford it go to Moran .

My mum has been in this facility for the last 8 years. The nurses are the most caring beautiful people. Would be very happy to recommend this facility.

Overall the facility is generally good. Biggest complaint that I have is - Catering is outsourced. Pureed food is too dry and lacks nutrition; sugary cordial; Water chairs are in need of maintenance. Dining chairs require maintenance. Consistent complaints re Care Manager are overlooked All complaints could easily be rectified.
