The Village Cohuna, is a 45 bed aging in place facility, run by a local Board of Management. The Facility has been operating in Cohuna for over 40 years providing high quality care to its local residents.

Room Description

All rooms are single rooms with individual ensuites they have a large picture window overlooking landscaped garden areas. A large number of rooms have raked cathedral ceilings with skylights that allow natural light into rooms. Majority of rooms have carpets however some have vinyl floor coverings. All rooms have ample storage areas for hanging and folded clothes.
Individual air conditioning units allow residents to set their desired room temperatures.
Residents are encouraged to individualise their rooms with their personal belongings taking into consideration Occupation Health and safety needs.
Shelving is available for residents to display personal items and it is permissable to have pictures etc on walls.
Residents are encouraged to personalise their rooms with their own belongings including bed linen curtains etc if they choose.
A number of rooms have adjoining doors which allows couples to share one room and have another as a sitting room.
Telephone and television outlets are available in each room along with a number of power points.
All rooms have a nurse call system and there are pendant alarms available for residents who require them.

Common Areas Description

There are several larger common areas available throughout the facility which residents may access along with smaller quiet sitting areas.
Large windows open out onto a small courtyard where residents may sit and enjoy the fresh air with family and friends.
Larger outdoor areas are also available where residents may potter in the garden area if they choose.
A smokers area is provided with shelter for those residents who still smoke.
A mulitpurpose room is available for family functions as well as being available for other resident activities such as bingo pool Wii and television viewing.
A small activity area has been set up as a cafe with an expresso coffee machine that lifestyle staff operate for residents and visitors.
A library area is also available with a large range of books and DVDs Videos available for residents to access.
A large communal dining area is also available for residents to have meals morning and afternoon teas. Special functions are also held in this area.
