Mum spent 5 years in care with Alzheimers. She decided to move from the family home on the Far South Coast of NSW to the Hunter to be closer to her children and grandchildren.
Her new Aged Care home was (and still is) an excellent facility supported by the Greek community in Newcastle. I found the staff generally upbeat and helpful to family members.

The thing that would improve the quality of lifestyle for residents in my opinion is the provision of better activity programmes - eg men's shed, computer classes, outings. The staff are caring and do their best, but they are so busy, and many have little training.
