Common Areas Description
It is the general care we provide residents at the Oaks which stands us apart. Our culture of welfare over profit is evident in our staffing arrangements.Unlike many aged care facilities our Nurses are the cornerstone to our clinical care and The Oaks employs more qualified nurses on staff and there is a Registered Nurse on duty 24 hours a day every day. That is a great comfort to our residents and their families.Being part of Macedon Ranges Health means that residents at The Oaks have allied health practitioners on call such as our physiotherapist, dietitian and podiatrist.A care coordinator is assigned to each resident and they play a vital role to ensure that resident’s welfare is effectively monitored.

Common Areas Description
The Oaks premium range of apartment styled rooms, spacious and luxuriously appointed, with more living and recreational areas, surrounding the tranquil gardens and stunning courtyards (1000 sq.metres). Residents may relax in the spacious comfort of the main lounge room (138 sq.metres), relaxing in front of the open fireplace, watching communal television, listening to requested music or other programs of interest, play the pianola, or enjoy reading from a selection of books from our library. In addition there are three smaller lounge rooms; two at 32 sq. metres each and the third at 21 sq.metres. One is designed as a retreat where residents and families may enjoy mingling in a quiet, private and peaceful moment. A large multi-purpose room (100 sq.metres) caters for a variety of activities ranging from needle work and sowing to bingo, cards and other interests. This room also doubles as a meeting room for groups both within the hostel and the wider community. Regular ecumenical church services are conducted by local clergy. Hydronic heating throughout the building and air conditioning in communal areas, as well as individually controlled ceiling fans in all rooms, ensures a comfortable temperature is maintained in all seasons. Outside the landscaped court-yard and pergola (545 sq.metres), offer an idyllic area to enjoy the outdoors. The portable barbeque caters for special outdoor functions. There is ample parking for relatives and visitors.
