“This is one of the best models of dementia care in an assisted environment that I’ve seen” Ita Buttrose. At GHA you can be assured that we offer the best quality care available in the Eastern Surburbs of Sydney, in a warm, friendly and safe environment. We specialise in high care, palliative and respite care and were independently benchmarked by Alzheimer's Australia as best in class in every area of dementia care against over 80 competitors.
The GHA model is the first of its kind in Australia and focuses on creating a non-institutional way of living that emphasises a resident’s abilities rather than their disabilities. Our homes are traditional houses in traditional streets. The homes are an integral part of the community, with a maximum of 10 residents living together in private rooms. Each home has trained staff on site 24/7 and approximately 1 member of staff for every 3 residents. We also have a number of Registered Nurses who work across the homes.
Our caring team members are homemakers, and they support and assist residents with their daily needs and activities. They encourage residents to be engaged in shopping, cooking, gardening… The full range of daily tasks that bring a sense of purpose in a home. We have no call bells or nursing trolleys, no rigid routines around waking, personal care or singalongs. We actively welcome friends and family to come and visit and stay for a cup of tea and sample our latest freshly baked treats. We have homes across Sydney, including in Rose Bay, Vaucluse, Waverley, St Ives and Warriewood. Please get in touch with us to arrange a tour of one of our homes and see the difference for yourself.

Our newly refurbished home in Waverley provides living environments that are safe, warm and inviting, utilising modern, soft décor and a sensible floor plan to create an ideal space for living and socialising.

We are very happy with care give to mother-in-law. Staff is lovely and easy to talk to.
