About Imlay House

Imlay District Nursing Home Ltd is a not-for-profit community based home which opened in 1985 and caters for 72 residents including 22 dementia specific places and respite care. It is situated in a picturesque part of Pambula, in a quiet cul de sac backing on to the Ben Boyd National Park, with views overlooking the surrounding hills. Nature is on our doorstep, as the residents enjoy watching kangaroos feeding and the wonderful birdlife The atmosphere in the home is one of peace and tranquillity. Our home has numerous lounge rooms, sitting areas, dining rooms and lovely gardens and courtyards with comfortable outdoor furniture and gazebo's for the residents to enjoy.Residents, staff and volunteers are involved in the planning of our activities and other services.On the 1st of July 2016 Imlay House joined with Hillgrove House, Casuarina, The Oaks Village and Sapphire Home Services, all based in Bega to form Sapphire Coast Community Aged Care Group.

Each room has individually-controlled revers cycle air conditioning and 3-in-1 bathroom ducted/exhaust ceiling fixture. The room is near the lounge room, dining room, activities room; nurses station, access to gardens/grounds/courtyards; facility entrance. The room type provides privacy having entry way that shields the bed from immediate view from the doorway; easy self-adjusted window coverings and is located away from service areas. The room type has natural light and vistas provide by windows with views to landscaped grounds, gardens internals courtyard, large mid floor-to-ceiling windows and courtyard views.

The common areas accessible to the resident include small & large dining areas; small & large lounge rooms; small & large sitting rooms, activities room; gazebo; hairdresser and central community area. All common areas are located within easy access from residents' rooms including; centrally -located main lounge and dining areas; direct access to landscaped grounds/courtyards/garden areas & smaller sitting rooms. An abundance of natural light is provided in common areas via glass doors for external access and attractive ceiling lighting and wall-mounted lighting. From common areas residents can enjoy views to landscaped grounds, gardens, mountain range/hills & internal courtyard. Entertainment options located in the common areas include; large screen TV with DVD/video with no cable/satellite TV; sound system with a choice of CDs and/or cassettes; DVD/video library; library books (inc. large print books); piano; cards table; computer with internet access and Wi-Fi enabled communal areas.
