I appreciate how the staff are dealing with the everyday challenges of multitasking. The staff are very dedicated in providing utmost care to residents despite noticing that some families of other residents are bullies, they try their best and even sometimes not ending up having a break, I notice it is just non stop and they even have that great gesture of asking whether we need help. Sure, some of them may be hard on English but that doesn't make them incompetent, I have witnessed how wonderful a bed was made and how complex care needs are attended. Thank you

My mother endured 2 months of 30 deg C plus temperatures at the end stages of her life. No air conditioning in a relatively new building of 10 years. Staffing was insufficient and staff there were all foreign and VERY difficult to understand in conversation. Impossible for my mother. Night staff were often abrupt and rude. To buzz for a staff member for any reason, more often than not, meant a wait of 30 minutes or even hours. Mums room was not cleaned regularly. The bathroom often not cleaned for days. Communication from staff to families was extremely poor and often erratic. THE LACK OF PROFESSIONALLY TRAINED AGED CARE STAFF/NURSES IS TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE.

My mother has been a resident for nearly 4 years after falling and breaking her hip. I go into the facility every night to feed my Mum. Her care over the years has been adequate, lately I'd say that it has been a slight improvement. Care staff really do make a difference - there has been some very lazy and careless staff to the other extreme of being kind, professional and loving. My mother is vegan. This was a problem at first - I bought in avocados for her and I still make her vegan soup. When she was put on pureed food that was an obstacle to overcome. Sometimes, with both care staff and kitchen staff there are language barriers - the older residents can't hear and/or understand. Management directly affects the care, either bringing it up or pulling it down. Recently changes in Management.

In the three years that my parent has reside in this facility her general care has been of a reasonable standard, however,as you can imagine, there have been a few concerns over that time. The food is not to her liking and not enough variety in the lifestyle activities. The staff are mostly helpful, polite and friendly, but are stretched to the limit trying to provide adequate care to about 100 residents.

i have my mother is aged care facility in the a.c.t she has been there for 4 years and the most off the time she is very well cared for but everything is not aways perfect i go there every day to check on mum and how she is doing i also do my mums washing i dont want her clothes washed with every bodys clothes i would like to take care off her things myself in general i am satisfied with mums care all though there are areas which could be inprovments made but like most aged care facility there are understaffed liz bobruk
