Staff at the facility were very caring, professional and committed. Really high calibre.
Problems we experienced, sadly, were with Management.
They were never upfront, caused us a lot of confusion.
A case of 'too many cooks spoil the broth" scenario.
This added a lot of unnecessary emotional distress especially so to the family at a sensitive,fragile time.
This caused us much unnecessary difficulty with the overall experience.

This was the second facility my Mum was in after a totally disastrous 4 months at another facility which resulted in Mum being admitted to an older mental health facility. The standard of care when Mum was first admitted was outstanding, and by and large, remained that way, probably due to my relationship with all of the staff, from management down. My mother in law is now in the same facility that my own mother lived in for ten years. It is a very caring facility and they keep in touch with family and keep us updated regularly. We are at peace knowing that she is happy and well looked after.
Situated in natural bushland at the foot of the Darling Scarp, Jeremiah Donovan House is committed to providing the highest level of care and support to all residents. The home has 65 beds with specific wings catering for individuals with more complex and high care needs, along with those with dementia specific support needs. The facility has also recently built 15 extra service beds. All residents receive 24 hour nursing care and an occupational therapy program runs seven days a week.Many of our residents require high levels of care and our daily lifestyle activities take this into account. Every Friday afternoon residents enjoy bingo and ‘Happy Hour’, which is a lovely opportunity for everyone to sit and chat. As well as bingo, residents participate in craft and cooking activities and may choose to attend morning exercise classes or an afternoon quiz. Activities are varied each day so there is always something to please everyone.

Our spacious rooms include furniture of high quality fabric and style. Our common areas feature wall art, occasional tables, hall tables, display cabinets, bookcases and a fish tank.
There are a wide variety of activities for residents of Jeremiah Donovan House to enjoy including a large screen TV with DVD player, along with a collection of DVDs.
There is also a library of books for resident’s, as well as a piano and cards table. Tea and coffee making facilities are available for family and friends in all communal areas. The on-site chapel provides a place for quiet reflection, or residents can attend the regular mass services.
