The building is average with some very dated heating systems in the rooms and the refurbishment for new residents moving in, is not always up to standard or carried out as stated. Some improvements have been completed in the last 6mths. There are some very good staff members at this facility, however there are some who appear to be unsuitable for the environment. The food is very good most of the time, however some of the simple produce are not always made available with residents asking or reminding staff often. Daily activities are arranged each week and this seems to cater to the residents interests and motivation. Residents wellbeing is considered with daily exercises and regular meetings with OT, Physio, Podiatrist and GP. The overall quality is reasonable, however I would like to see a ratio of staff to residents applied with changes to legislation to ensure low care and high care residents needs are supported sufficiently and appropriately. Both day and night shifts appear to provide a minimal crew that constantly puts the staff under pressure and the residents feeling invalidated during times of high need. The situation I have with my mother residing at this facility, after paying a RAD, on top of the $1500 per month, we are paying an extra $140 per week for a newspaper one day a week and nothing more. There is supposed to be other extras, but they have not amounted to the fee or proved to be worth the extra fee. Trying to cease this fee or negotiate this fee, the accounts department has demonstrated poor customer service and insulting with an offer that meant we would be paying $105 per week for a newspaper instead of $140. There is still some work to be done by our politicians in relation to age care facilities and supports for our loved ones.

Needs to be more external activity for the active minded and more menu choices/variety
