Room Description
All rooms at The Salvation Army? s Linsell Lodge are fitted with a private ensuite, heat lamps and individually controlled reverse cycle air conditioning for individual comfort. Rooms, without exception, have a high/low bed, armchair, lockable bedside table, double wardrobe and flatscreen television. Upon request residents can also obtain individual room keys for additional privacy and security. Linsell Lodge offers 30 rooms in the Cookson Memory Support Unit; a specially designed and secure unit for residents who live with dementia and impaired cognitive skills. For maximum resident comfort, safety and security, call buttons are located beside every bed and in every bathroom. Where necessary, sensor mats are also provided. Residents may choose to opt for landlines, internet coverage and pay television.
Common Areas Description
Our Cookson Wing features its own 30 seater dining room, a large decorated activity room, a bright undercover patio area and two internal courtyard areas. It has its own secure garden with a gazebo bench seats and walking paths.

Our facilities features a purpose built hairdressing salon and dedicated consulting room which is used by our visiting GP’s, podiatrist, dietician, speech pathologist, dentists, audiologist, optical and other health specialists. A separate Physiotherapy room is home to our permanent onsite physios to assist and assess all resident needs and mobility requirements. Our 100 plus seated Chapel is a meeting point for regular religious celebrations including Salvation Army, Catholic and any interdenominational requests including funerals and memorials. It is also used extensively for resident’s activities, concerts and social events. The sound of the piano being played by a visitor or resident can often be heard in the bustling reception area. Cecil’s Café is situated at the front reception area opening 6 days a week. Selling barista coffee, pies and pasties and a wide selection of cakes & scones. Cecil’s is a hub for conversations and interactions for staff, visitors and residents. It also provides a comfortable place for people to enjoy a quite read of the paper on a warm sunny afternoon with large light filtering windows and a sheltered courtyard. Linsell our resident Cat will always delight in a quiet stroke of the chin as she ventures to her favourite spot on a window sill. The 4 station internet and library area provides residents with access to the web and staff are on hand to help set up email and Facebook pages to keep you in contact with family and friends far and wide. A post box is situated in the dining room hall and at reception. All incoming mail including any personal Newspaper or Magazine subscriptions are hand delivered to your room. Four large and two small lounges areas provide venues for a variety of activities in front of individual gas fire places. In one of the larger lounge rooms is a 60inch flat screen television to watch major sporting events or much loved movies.
