• As part of our integrated model of care for those with dementia, all rooms are dementia-friendly. The placement of down lights and fittings is designed to provide visual assistance to residents with dementia.
Common Areas Description
• Resident rooms are grouped in wings of 18 – 19 residents. Each wing has an air conditioned shared lounge room, dining room and activity room. The activity room can be used for family gatherings, meals and functions
• The Activities Room is a very pleasant room with a homely feel to it, fitted out as it is with a sideboard/hutch. Timber and glass bi-fold doors can be closed off to make this into a private function room for residents to entertain family and friends
• Residents have access to a dedicated reflection room for times when they may want to sit quietly without distractions. A fully equipped kitchenette is available for residents and guests to make tea/coffee or light snacks
• The facility has a large activity area and chapel. Residents and relatives have access to administration, allied health and therapy staff located in the central administration area
• Residents can enjoy the expansive landscaped gardens surrounding the complex and the specially designed sensory courtyards. The facility is built on a single level and is surrounded by extensive and professionally landscaped gardens. Pathways are wide and have a level gradient to enable ease of access for residents with mobility aids
• The facility has an outdoor pergola and raised garden area. This pergola is generously sized and provides a pleasant spot for residents to enjoy a barbeque or picnic with family and friends. It is easily accessible via a wide, level pathway
• The entire complex is secure, providing all residents with freedom to enjoy the grounds. Within each wing there is an enclosed and planted courtyard which provides a safe and pleasant spot for residents living with dementia to enjoy being in the open air
• High quality floor coverings are used throughout the facility, with the type of flooring being carefully selected to facilitate resident mobility.
