Management makes a place, and Portofino has gone from a well run AC residence to a place where management is invisible, where staff come and go at a giddy pace, where training and competence are barely adequate and staff are clearly unhappy. I don't understand how this place managed to get 5 stars here and 4 on the government site given the experience of my loved one here.

I cannot say enough about Portofino at Hamilton. My husband Norman is slowly settling in he knows that he can ask the nurses for help at anytime and they take the time to listen to him ....he feels very comfortable It is like nothing I have ever seen before and I can speak from experience as my son was in care for nearly 10years before his death. Only yesterday I mentioned to someone if all Aged Care Facilities were like Portofino there would...
