i visited my grandfather the food he got served was disgusting the amount of money these people pay to what the food and service is like is ridiculous. food looked worse then baby food and my grandfather got offered a bowl of not whipped cream as a desert. Every time i go they the food looks and smells like wouldn't feed it to my pet. Only one nurse could speak English well the rest didn't understand a word I saying and would just walk off or just ignore the residents. they do not treat residents with caring nature but talk rudely and aggressively towards them. All I can say is please take your loved one somewhere else I'm glad we did my grandfather is much happier away from Regis.

SMorrow Dec 02, 2013

I admitted my mother, who has mild dementia, into Regis Yeronga in late 2012 for 2 weeks respite care. The building looks modern and lovely on the outside and in the reception area. However behind closed doors in the secure, fark, dingy dementia wing it is a different story. The care provided to Mum was simply scary. I visited the place twice during that two week period. I was advised not to see Mum as she would fret. However I tried talking with staff about her wellbeing. I asked the nurse on duty if Mum had been given her medication the night before. English was certainly a second language for this guy and he looked at me with a puzzled grin and then said "Yes she had dinner last night". When I finally picked her up I was shown into her room. On the way I passed "guests" who looked frazzed, distressed and alone. Carers seemed to be few and far between. Those that were on duty were simply rushing around. Mums was literally cowering in the far corner of her room! She was visibly scared and distressed. She ran for me and would not let me go. She took one look at the carer behind me and demanded I get them away from her. On leaving I noticed there were items of clothing missing as well as money from her wallet (I was previously told they would take her out for drives and coffee during her stay, but this apparently never occurred. Stupidly I believed them) Mum was simply a wreck for the next few days and traumatised by her experience. Regis management brushed over my concerns insisting this is a normal reaction for guests. Never again!
