So I wouldn't be here if it weren't for my pop, he is so selfless and will never complain about anything, he is a very patient man. He deserves better than this and if you were in his position would you like to be treated in the same way? Pops bed at the hospital is so uncomfortable, he really needs his own bed I believe and he needs a more supportive pillow as he is using a cushion under the current pillow. It's so uncomfortable for him and I want ever so much for him to spend his last days as though they were memorable, while knowing we loved him. Pop did so much for everyone he came in contact with and I strongly believe he should be spoiled by taking care of the man that gave blood sweat and tears to put food on the table and roof over our heads. He also made nana Margaret very comfortable and has taken such great care of Chris. He is declining and before its all too late please please please please do the right thing... Also he has a shower each 4/5 days which is disgraceful and stays in the same clothing for days underwear not changed. More so the toilet had poo faeces on it for days to the point he was then sitting on top of the faeces, the photos I have speak 1000 words and I had to clean the whole room plus bathroom as it hadnt been done for weeks. Is this really my job to drive five hrs to clean my pops room? It took 6 hrs to clean everything properly. This 6hrs could have been spent talking with my pop, taking him for a walk etc. His lips are dried out and cracking with skin breaking away and his nails are so very long they are annoying him greatly. Since he arrived here 3months ago he has not seen the podiatrist. Ilast night I asked the nurses to come put him in bed an hour later no one shows or changes him, they were happy to leave him in a very uncomfortable upright position on the chair. He had been in the same clothing for days, not changed, not cared for, the nurse popped her head in seeing if he needed to be changed into his pjs so once she looked at him she said oh he will be right and walked out. I was like whatttffff.... He is left to change himself each day and he cant because he is sore so he only puts his p.j top that takes him 40min to do himself and therefore stays in suit pants with belt on for days. The toilet is disgusting faeces everywhere and then he is expected to re use the toilet not cleaned for days. The floor, walls benches etc were filthy and to make it all worse he was using a face washer on his face that had poo on it, I almost vomited.. No wonder why he wants to run away. They don't monitor his food intake either he eats breakfast each day and that's it. He needs help doing the daily things not yelled at because he moves slowly...

I found that it is far from person centred care. They do not have the capacity to manage ageing in place. They are disorganised. Residents are not always respected as people able to make decisions. When alarms are pressed it takes a long time to respond. Communication is ineffective. No stimulation for residents who remain sleeping in front of TV all day. The list goes on….
