I have visited this nursing home many times. There is a shortage of staff

My father passed away on the 6th September after he was transferred to hospital with Sepsis. His had dementia and we always felt his care was not up to scratch and that the staff were rude to the patients along with the staff were not well trained in dementia behaviours despite being a high risk unit. Sad that dad’s last year was so horrible and that the staff had not paid closer attention despite the Hope team giving a guideline for the staff to follow.

Too many casual staff,people who has done only a very short training course and know nothing about the elderly,3 months courses are not enough to learn to look after them.

I am living in an Independant Aged Care Village, have been here for 12yrs. I am now 85yrs and think we are so blessed to have all the care. I have my meals delivered to my Unit, also have my Unit cleaned. WE can have Physiotherapy and Massage. We can learn to use iPad, iPhone. We have Entertainment,, Card Games, Bingo Movies,Tai Chi, Exercises, Happy Hour .etc, etc. Mass

As a visitor to a relative I've noticed that the overall care is very good but small things like the patients nappy has come off. The room also need to be vacuumed more often.
