Since my father passed away the management of this facility has changed so I don't know what it is like now. The staff were caring and kind at the time.

My Dad was in respite for short time while I visited my daughters. He hated being there. When I returned he was in hospital

I have recently lost my Mother and she was residing in a Hostel between myself and my two sisters we put two complaints into the Aged Care Scheme as we were so disgusted with the care our Mother was not receiving, infection control was disgusting, and staff ran the Hostel and not the Management. My mother was there for 15mths before she died and in that time there was a change over of 3 managers. We went to all three Managers with our concerns but nothing really was resolved as each one left. The staff were rude to the Residents and staff should be identified who they are, AIN's are not sufficient in a Hostel they need more qualified staff and more compassionate staff for the elderly. I feel sad that mum has gone now but I can no longer do anything to help the other Residents. Most Residents don't have family to fight for there care nor do they have visitors. If I could change the system to make Hostel's a much better place to reside I would do everything in my power to make the major changes for these people they are not just left there to die they are still living and deserve a good quality of life and care.
