Generally thay are good and provide adequate care, however the quality of life does not seem as important to them as to me. My father is not encouraged to leave his room and often spends a lot of time there sleeping - boredome being the enemy of dementia patients. My dad is easily encouraged to do things and nejoys activities when he participates. I know staff don't have the time to spend with that level of interaction but that is what older people need when family can't be there to help. My father aslo needs encouragement ot eat

Whilst not being a new building it is divided into wings with fantastic landscaping around each wing.Located in a quiet area makes it a peaceful environment for residents. However it is the quality of staff and care to the individual person at Opal Aged Care Tweed Heads West which makes it so outstanding.Nothing is too much trouble and as all are alzheimer trained in the dedicated dementia wing it is with this knowledge that I leave my husband to their care

The quality of care and kindness of the nursing staff towards my husband who has dementia is outstanding. It is difficult to judge the food as he can only eat pureed food which does not look very appetising but they try to please his wishes

Not a new building and divided into wings surrounded by beautifully maintained gardens and lawn areas in which to walk or sit. Rooms lounges and recently refurbished Full calendar of activities. Friendly, caring and professional staff with good communication between them and visitors and residents alike.
