My 93 year old mother went to Berrington Jolimont in WA after she had a fall in my home. 1st night nobody knew anything about Mum, the resident and I felt Mum was unsafe in their hands so so had her private night Carer stay with her and to take care of Mum.on Day 2 they slapped a Norspan Patch on her without a prescription from any Doctor. I demanded it be removed so the RN removed only to have the Clinical Services Manager order it be returned. After 2 weeks of lies, they finally admitted it was done without a Drs prescription. Later someone representing them or pharmacy contacted Mum’s GP to obtain a backdated prescriptionand they were soon told by Dr that it was a criminal offence to do so. Mum left my home walking with the aid of a Zimmer Frame and after only 3 weeks, she was no longer able to walk or weight bear. I discovered this during assessment at Regis Woodlands, where she now resides, when to my horror she had to be hoisted. Physiotherapist worked diligently with her for quite some time, before he announced there was no chance of her ever being able to weight bear supported or otherwise. These days she sits in her wheelchair and needs to be fully hoisted in order to change places. That’s not all their lack of doing physio “(because the government funding hadn’t been received, they wouldn’t start any additional services. This according to the 1st Floor Manager. She also said that because she was on the unprescribed schedule 8 Drug Norspan, it wasn’t safe to walk her. Somewhere along the line Mum also became Double Incontinent. I found this out at Regis. They said she came to them with this other incontinence. Her life as she knew it, was gone forever! The CEO and Owner has until very resented perpetuated the lies regarding what happened there with the unprescibed Drug. They have since changed their pharmacy as a corrective measure. I have met several family members of a resident at Berrington and everyone speaks of the lack of care, the drugging etc. I was also told, by the Clinical Services Manager that I had given up my right to be involved in my Mother’s health care. They would decide from then on. I told them I felt Mum was unsafe in their care so I’d be moving her ASAP. The CEO/Owner pleaded with me to leave Mum. This is a facility that requires a RAD OF $1.2500 million dollars.

Our mother became very ill during a lengthy period in Hollywood Hospital. This delayed her admission to Berrington on the agreed date, however thanks to Fran, the Admissions Officer, the only available room at the time was held for mum in good faith. This took an enormous amount of pressure off the Family, as we now could concentrate on Mum getting better and eventually being given the green light to move into Berrington. Once in Berrington, whilst not a 100 percent, mum was given the love and care by all the Doctors and staff, who slowly but surely , nursed her back to a level where she now enjoys the many benefits provided by Berrington. The Facilties at Berrington are second to none, and sets a new standard of High Care in this country. The administration, nursing staff, carers and all the other employees at Berrington are without doubt what makes Berrington such a lovely place to enjoy the golden years of ones life. So to all the other wonderful members of staff thank you and well done !

I live here, and everyday is a nightmare. This is the biggest mistake I have ever made. I even had to sell my house to get into this place, and so far this place has done nothing good for me. At the end of the day, you don't need a fancy place to live in. You need genuine, heartfelt, quality care, and this place just does not have it. Interested in money making and nothing else. It's not the staff's fault, they are overworked and not enough in numbers. It's the management, who clearly has no clue what they are doing. DO NOT COME HERE!!!

We needed a community to help us care for my sister in law who has Alzheimer's. In the event we chose Berrington Care in Jollimont and have found staff to be understanding, caring
