Understaffed and staff to resident ratio does not seem correct. Some staff appear to be inexperienced in dementia care. Not enough activities to keep dementia patients engaged. Personal care below standard particularly for challenging residents. Communication within the facility is extremely poor.

Facility: Castledare Village

My father, who has now passed away, was in Castledare in a high lrvel dementia area. Every carer was amazing, both trained and support staff. They all worked to high, quality standards - and smiled while they did it. During my fathers time there my husband had a severe accidenr making it difficult to visit as often as we had been and one of the generous carers took it in herself to continue to buy his weekly favourite wrapped lollies. I never heard a cross word spoken, a resident belittled or heard anyone say they didnt have time to do something a relative requested. I have recommended this facility to others and will continue to do so.

Our family looked for a home that would suit Dad. Clean, friendly staff that really seem to care, also one that suited his religious commitments. We found that with Archbishop Goodie Hostel.

Staff are caring and attentive to my mothers needs and are open and communicative when required.

My mother developed painful sores on her feet and legs due to a heart condition and poor circulation. In the last months of her life Staff refused to allow her to use a wheelchair to get to the dining room saying she needed to walk, refused to help her put her socks on, refused to help her eat after she suffered a stroke, did not get her medical attention after she suffered a stroke, did not get her medical attention after a fall that fractured a vertebrae and apparently had no policy around falls. My mother was bullied and shouted at by staff and was too scared to complain.
